The Little Mermaid

Long long ago, in the Deep Sea kingdom, there lived the sea king with his five mermaid daughters. Sirenetta was the youngest and the loveliest among them. She had a beautiful voice and everybody from far and wide came to hear her sing and praised her voice and her beauty.

One day, while Sirenetta was swimming on the surface of the water and watching ships go by, she saw a young man falling off his ship. She swam swiftly to save him from drowning and dragged him to the shore. Soon, people found the man on the shore and Sirenetta swam away. This man was actually the prince of a kingdom. When he became conscious, the prince looked around for the girl who had saved him but no one knew who she was.

Sirenetta often thought of the young man and fell in love with the prince, but she was sad because she could never be like all the other ladies he knew. They had two feet and she had a fish tail!

In the Deep Sea lived a witch with magical powers. One day, Sirenetta went to beg her for human legs. The witch said, “I need your beautiful voice! Only then I shall give you legs! But you must remember, every time you set your feet on the ground, it will hurt very badly!” Sirenetta agreed. She did not mind the pain. All she wanted was to be with the prince. As soon as she got her two feet Sirenetta became dumb. When she was leaving, the witch said, “If your prince marries anybody else, you shall dissolve in the sea water. You can never become a mermaid again!”

With the witch’s magic spell, Sirenetta found herself lying on the beach and the prince looking down at her. He asked, “Where are you from?” But she could not reply. The prince took her to his palace and looked after her. They became good friends and had a wonderful time together. Every step Sirenetta took hurt, but she bore it all silently. She loved the prince but the prince was in love with the beautiful maiden who had saved him. The prince did not realise it had been Sirenetta and she could not tell him.

Obeying the wishes of his father, the prince went to meet the daughter of a neighbouring king. Enchanted by her beauty the prince was convinced this was the same maiden who rescued him. He asked the princess to marry him. A grand wedding took place.

Sirenetta was heartbroken. That night, crying she ran to the seashore. There she saw four mermaids. Why, they were her sisters! One of them handed her a knife and said, “Here, Sirenetta! This is a magic knife! We gave our long hair locks to the witch of the Deep Sea and she gave this to us in return. Kill your prince and you shall turn into a mermaid again! Then you can come and live with us!”

Sirenetta took the magic knife and went to the prince’s room at night. But she loved him so much that she could not kill him. She knew that at dawn, she would vanish into the sea, just as the witch of the Deep Sea had told her earlier. She sat on the shore and wept silently.

Suddenly, from the sky came a pink cloud. It lifted her from the land into the sky. “Where am I?’ asked Sirenetta, for now she could talk. The beautiful fairies replied, “We are the air fairies. You are now one of us because you did a good deed for the person you love. Come with us.”

From then on, the little mermaid, Sirenetta, lived in the sky with the fairies.

Interview with Ms. Ai

At 1 p.m I and my friend, Irfani interviewed someone for doing our assignment. So, we went to Bazaar SMAN 3 Bandung to interview. We began with greeted and asked about the merchant's life. Her name is Mrs. Ai. She is 30 years old. We asked about her jobs now and she answered her job as a merchant of  beverage and pancake. Her husband's job is a parking man in Ciwalini Street. We asked why she choose that job, she answered because it was like what Nabi Muhammad SAW said according to Muslim religion. Trading was halall job. Oh my god, we thought that was a good  answer, because it connected to religion. We continued to ask about her omzet from beverage and pancake, she said if that  Uncertain, the merchant sometimes got much  or less. We asked her again whether that has been fulfilled her  life or no, she said that human have never satisfied, so she  just feel grateful about it. Wow that was the wise answer. Next we said if we almost everyday looked her always bring your daughter on her job and we asked if that disturb her jobs or not, she said No, because the mother is better to  be a housewife . So,it doesn't disturb her. In the private sector she can not bring the child to work. In here she can do so, thank God here . Besides that the students here are so happy to keep and play with her daughter. So she is very grateful. We think she is the good mother, the good wife. She is the hero, she never complain about herself. So why we always complain about our self? she can do her self why we aren't? Change your self to be better than before.

The Amazing Place: Derawan Islands

    Travel The Derawan Islands must be everyone’s dream of the perfect tropical paradise: warm, isolated  islands with soft white sand beaches fringed with waving palm trees, pristine seas that change color from green to deep blue, and an amazing underwater life of giant turtles, dolphins, manta rays, dugongs and barracudas, stingless jellyfish and sometimes, whales.  Derawan is indeed one of world’s richest areas in biodiversity. Small wonder that the Derawan Islands are considered the third best dive destination in the world.

    Located just away from the mainland of East Kalimantan in the district of Berau, the Derawan archipelago comprises 31 islands, most well known among these are the islands of Derawan, Maratua, Sangalaki and Kakaban. Here is Indonesia’s largest nesting site of the rare and endangered giant green turtles and hawksbill turtles, where one can daily watch turtles lay their eggs in the sand or swim to sea with the turtles. The entire marine conservancy region covers a total area of no less than 1.27 million hectares.

Here, you can find 460 different species of corals, ranking this area second only to the Raja Ampat Islands in West Papua. The Nature Conservancy and a team of international experts also found more than 870 species of fish here, ranging from tiny pygmy seahorses to giant manta rays. On some days, groups of up to 50 manta rays have been seen feeding together in Derawan’s waters, says the Conservancy.

While on Kakaban, you can find the world's largest and most diverse jellyfish lake, including four unique species of stingless jellyfish one of which can swim upside down. It is for this reason that Kakaban is considered for UNESCO nomination as a World Heritage Site.

To Stay

The Derawan resort provides transportation and diving equipments. For accomodation, the resort offers Kalimantan-style cottages facing the sea. There are also simpler accommodation and restaurant facilities available on Derawan and cottages on other islands.

You can also book liveaboards (boats designed for people living aboard them, usually for long journeys) to Derawan from Bali.

Get There

To reach Derawan, SilkAir flies from Singapore to Balikpapan in East Kalimantan.

Or you can take a flight from Jakarta, Surabaya or Denpasar to Balikpapan or Tarakan by Garuda Indonesia or Mandala Air. Then take a connecting flight by either KALStar, Deraya airlines or DAS to Tanjung Redeb in Berau. From here, boats will take you to the islands.

To Do

Derawan Archipelago have a large number of unique and protected species, among which are the coconut crabs, whales, manta rays, dolphins and dugongs. The coconut crabs are found near the islands of Kakaban and Maratua, while whales and dolphins in particular months can be seen around Semama, Sangalaki, Kakaban and Maratua. Dugongs swim around Pulau Panjang and Semama, and manta rays are found around Sangalaki with pygmy seahorses around Semama and Derawan. Other protected species are the barracuda. There are a total of 28 dive points identified here. Avid divers will need at least 10 days to explore them all.

There is an island near Manta Point that has a lake in the middle, it is a salt water lake filled with 4 kinds of jelly fish. They all have lost their stings so you can snorkel and bump heads with them. There are so many of them, it really does feel like jellyfish heaven.

Matswapati!

Hi! Nice to meet you again. Now I want to tell you about the art and culture event named 'Matswapati' that held on 27 September 2014.It was located at Lapangan Bali. Matswapati is a Sundanesse themed cultural festival, so all the Sundanese culture available in this event. I was the part of a decor division committee at the event and i'm very happy because I can participate in this succeed event that held back after 7 years of vacuum.

Lots of fun and educational experience that can be taken when i became a committee. Every single day we worked, we made the decorations like a miniature of puppet, making the concept of design and other decorations which it will be put up in the event. A week before the event begins, sometimes we used to ask a permission to leave the lesson. Our hard work was not in vain, it can be seen by the success from this event.

The first activity of Matswapati event is the parade around some streets in Bandung. Parade lasted for 3 hours from 7 to 10 am. Unfortunately, the committee was not allowed to attend the parade because we have to optimize the preparation for the event. This parade was followed by SD Karang Pawulang, SD Kartika, 5 Junior High School, 2 Junior High School and the entire class of 10 students of SMAN 3 Bandung.

Exactly at 10 am, we started to open the gate so the visitors can entering the area of Matswapati. After the parade finished, it's time for the opening event. This opening attended by Mr. Mayor of Bandung, Ridwan Kamil with his wife to gave some response or speech.

After that, the event went smoothly as expected. Matswapati have some famous star guess they are Glenn Freadly, Angklung Saung Ujo, Barsena, Wayang Golek Giriharja, Indonesian Bamboo Community and so on. The event also featured the artistic talents of students of SMAN 3, such as Tiloe's Theater (TST), Angklung (KPA 3), Vocal Group (KV 3), and Music Classic (MK 3)

In Matswapati, I met many old friends of mine. One of them is Alifya Rofi, he was my elementary school friend. I asked him what do you think about Matswapati? Then he answered it was nice and interesting, because it's rarely schools provide cultural a big festival like this.

One of the most exciting events I think is the culmination of this event, it was when Glenn Freadly concert. He was the one of my favorite singer. The music that he brought was very good, comfortable and made a romantic feel. With his ​​melodious voice, the hearts of the audience, including myself amazed admiration. He and his crew gave the appearance of a very passionate and enthusiastic until i was satisfied with the songs that they were presented. My grandmother enjoyed the show too until evening! She was the most spectacular grandma i have ever seen.

My Friend, Irfani

Well hello again! This time, i'm going to tell you about my friend, my classmate exactly, whose name is Raden Irfani Hasya Fulki, you can call her Fani. She thought it was a cute call because fani has a similar pronunciation with funny, so she's happy with that call. But i usually called her Irfan. She was born on 16th of March, 1999 so now she’s 15 years old. Her horoscope is Pisces. She have one brother, his name is Abhinaya. About her mother and father, her father's name is Devi and her mother is Sri.

About her characteristics, her is 44kg and her height is about 158. She has an oval-shape face, fair skin, and tall enough. She also wear glasses for the detail: left -¼,  right -1. But she never wear softlense or some of that things, because she tought it was too risky and she don’t know how to wear it anyway. She’s an atractive and funny person she’d like to make us smile and an easy-going person, and now she decided to wear veil. 

Her favorite food are pizza, pasta, chocolate, cotton candy, kwetiau, fried chicken, green tea and many more. Her hobby is swimming, but she said that its been a long time since the last time she did. She used to have a pet. Its a super cute rabbit. But unfortunately, it has no name because she don’t even had a change to give it a name because it die too soon, what a poor rabit:( 

About her habbit, the first thing that i always remember is selfie, i know everyone in this world must be have doing that thing but for her, is like a routine. When she borrowed my phone, she was always took a lot of photo's of herself or we called it 'selfie' thing. Moreover, she always try to fix her veil while I tought her veil was so perfectly fine, and also she has a what-an-amazing-voice, she don’t even need to scream and shout for people to heard her. The point is, she had a super loud voice in my class I think.

Hi, everyone! In this blog you will find everything about me. My name is Adhisya Salma Khairunnisa, but people usually call me Chacha. I was born in Bandung on 10th of July 1999. I'm about 15 years old right now. I study at SMAN 3 Bandung, in X Science 1. My horoscope is cancer. I have one little brother and one little sister. They were born in 2003 and 2008, my little brother’s name is Rakhansa Salman, and my little sister’s name is Adinda Salma. Both of them now is elementary school’s students. I will tell you about my mother and father. My father’s name is Haris Samsul, and my mother is Diny Mayanti. They have 2 daughters, and 1 son. And I’m the first child of them. My father’s job is work as a manager of my grandfather’s company, and my mother is a house wife.
I have some hobbies, such as listening to music, browsing and travelling. About music, I think listening to music is the best way to relax mind, heart and body when we feel tired. Music also inspired me to be a singer, but I have no talent for singing so I changed ‘that’ mind. By doing something related by music too, i was having a little less stress. I really like travelling, why? Because i like to visit some places that I have ever visited, the most unforgettable moment when I travelling is when I and my family visited three countries, there are Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand using Carribean’s cruise ship. It took 2 weeks, and I really enjoyed it because that was the first time I got on a cruise ship. Let's move, now I am a High School's student in SMAN 3 Bandung. I was so proud by entering this school so much, because this school is the best school in Indonesia, not every people can enter this school. So my parents and i were grateful, and trying to do the best in this school. I love studying at SMAN 3 Bandung, the people are easy to be friends, love to help each other.
